SweetWater Bay — Bruce Peninsula
SweetWater Bay is a hidden gem in the middle of the Bruce peninsula. Please don't tell anyone.
In my opinion, the best way to celebrate a birthday is doing what you already love. For instance, If you enjoy working out and being out with friends and family, book a Pedal Pub on your special day.
Sounds simple, right? But when it comes to celebrating my own birthday and choosing what to do, things can get a bit complicated. I really appreciate many activities, and there are some difficulties as my family is overseas, my friends have their own commitments, and… Usually I want to take a 3-hour trip from home, go on a 2.5-hour hike, be surrounded by beautiful landscapes, and still be back home by 7:30 PM sharp to enjoy a cup of tea.
If reading that sounds like a lot, imagine trying to make it happen — we're talking real-time, one-on-one resource/possibility management.
Well, a few years ago, my husband came up with a solution: Split the celebrations into two weekends. One for a nature getaway, the other for a fun time with friends and family. For my surprise... It worked out perfectly since then!
This year we celebrated my birthday by going to Bruce Peninsula. We stayed at the Sweetwater Bay hotel and this is my impression of it:

Located at 201 Little Cove Rd, Tobermory, ON, the hotel is perfect for any kind of trip, from 2 days or an entire week. The comfort you get here is absolutely worthy.
The place is an adults‑only waterfront resort on Georgian Bay’s shores, offering six spacious suites on a 98‑acre wooded property within a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Perfect place for hiking, swimming and if you like flowers it's the perfect place to search for rare kinds of orchids such as the Yellow Ladies Slipper . Also – If you're lucky enough – you can find a blue jay singing or flying around.
When we stayed there, the room was very well stocked. The bathroom was modern with three pieces and a walk-in shower. There was also a cozy loft bedroom with a view of Georgian Bay. We also shared a porch with a roof, which was great for relaxing with a drink at night or a cup of coffee in the morning.

Eating

Culinary experiences are personalized, with set-time dinner services prepared by the in‑house chef and attentive staff. This time we had breakfast. It was served on our preferred time slot and the options were great.

The Georgian Bay Benedict was impressively good. Here are more details of the breakfast:

There couldn’t have been a more perfect place to stay and celebrate my special day. This place was meticulously planned to be both elegant and stress-free. The tranquilly and picturesque vistas of this place were a welcome return after a day spent hiking in Bruce Peninsula and it has everything you need for an amazing stay. Highly recommended!
